MUST FIND LEGAL STREET PARKING in nearby streets and walk over to the beach! There is no designated parking near this little Yomitan community beach. PLEASE do not block any locals resident entrances where ever you choose to park, as this is a small community beach that they enjoy. I’m not sure what the actual history is on it in specifics for the Battle of Okinawa, but I’m sure you can imagine since American troops landed on Yomitan Beaches upon arrival to the island. I will recommend that you go during low tide, as it might be hard to access during high tide and not safe or recommended. The coral rocks are very sharp so I don’t recommend little ones walking through them, you can just have them wait at the beach like I did if they are old enough. I would recommend water shoes or some type of closed toed shoe, I did wear sandals and also did this at 8 months pregnant but I wouldn't say that's the smartest thing I've ever done.
You can access the beach from either the left or the right side, one side has a little jagged ramp (closest to the pill box) to walk down and the other side (opposite side of the beach) has stairs. We parked on the opposite side of the beach and walked across it.
I'm pretty positive the locals were catching (if that's even the right word) oysters. We never actually seen them with live ones but did find several piles of shells and they were walking around with buckets and what looked like tongs (to pick them up maybe).
Great area for photographers as well! The fish there were literally jumping out of the water! Of course every time I tried to get a picture of them they would stop jumping in that area and move to another spot.
Walking towards the pill box from the beach.
Entrance to the little cave area where the pill box is. When you get closer you can see the pill box from the outside.

The rocks carved (or placed maybe) into a seat.
