Purple Iris Fields

Writer: JessieJessie

If you're a flower lover or a photographer these fields up in Nago are a must! They were the best bloomed fields I've seen of all the different types of flowers we've attempted on island so far. Best location I've found for some awesome macro photography as well!

They had a couple little stands you could buy some fresh cut iris's if you would like, not sure the price as we didn't get close enough to the stands to see any signs.

The fields themselves are free to walk around. There is pathways in between the flowers you can follow so you don't destroy the flowers growing. They are pretty uneven and a little mushy in areas that are still wet from either rain or them watering them so watch your step.

There were lots of bees, flies, dragonflies, spiders, lady bugs, and even a few frogs along the wetter areas.

Kid friendly but not stroller friendly if you plan on walking through the fields at all.

I would say its dog friendly as well as long as they're leashed and you clean up after them, I didn't see any signs saying otherwise.

One of the fields and the types of pathways within them.

So many bees all around the flowers.

Perfect place for finding all sorts of critters for some awesome macro shots. (spider eating a fly)

Another good example of the types of bugs and critters we seen there.

About Me

My husband and I are currently stationed in Okinawa Japan and love traveling and exploring new places. Pet parents to a fat cat named Felix and a crazy boxer named Hades. We're currently expecting our first daughter, Mia, who we can't wait to show the world to.

I love writing and taking way too many photos so I figured I would give this whole blog thing a shot. My goal is to back track everything we've done and seen here in Okinawa and our trip to Tokyo and then all our future trips as well. This is all new to me so bare with me while we get started with this whole experience.

I would love to pass on all of our information of places we've explored, restaurants and cafes we've eaten at, and events we've attended all in one easy to navigate place!
