Acuna or “blue tombs”

Mostly surfers tend to go here since the water is super choppy. The road to the beach used to be paved all the way down but has since been washed out. If you don't have a 4 wheel drive vehicle with decent clearance underneath you'll have to park at the tombs and walk the path the rest of the way down to the beach.

The beach is dog friendly which is half the reason why we frequent this beach. It's super enclosed and surrounded by huge cliffs on both sides and wooded greenery on the back side so I can let him off the leash and feel pretty confident he's not going to go anywhere.

Hades enjoying the beach area.

As long as the water is pretty shallow he seems to like it.

The beach itself.

The blue dot is the parking along the dirt road by the tombs. The red line is the trail to follow down to the actual beach.

This sounds like such a unique hidden gem! The mix of rugged cliffs, greenery, and a dog-friendly vibe makes Miyagi Island a must for anyone looking for an unforgettable Island to visit. Perfect for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.

About Me

My husband and I are currently stationed in Okinawa Japan and love traveling and exploring new places. Pet parents to a fat cat named Felix and a crazy boxer named Hades. We're currently expecting our first daughter, Mia, who we can't wait to show the world to.

I love writing and taking way too many photos so I figured I would give this whole blog thing a shot. My goal is to back track everything we've done and seen here in Okinawa and our trip to Tokyo and then all our future trips as well. This is all new to me so bare with me while we get started with this whole experience.

I would love to pass on all of our information of places we've explored, restaurants and cafes we've eaten at, and events we've attended all in one easy to navigate place!
